Should we move out whilst we’re renovating? PDF Print E-mail

As a rule it is always wise to avoid exposure to building dust and vapours from products.Whether you should move out or not depends on the type and extent of renovations you are doing, whether you have children, illnesses, are pregnant or breastfeeding.

If you are staying in the house while renovating ensure that you can close off the section/s of the house under renovation from the areas you are continuing to live in as there will be elevated levels of chemical pollution even if you are using low emission products and materials.

You must ensure that demolition work doesn’t release hazardous materials such as lead and asbestos into the living spaces.
